
The observer represents the field of view.
- 2 DEGREES OBSERVER > it represents only a small field of view (like looking at your thumbnail at arm length)
- THE LARGER 10 DEGREES OBSERVER > it gives a better correlation to the visual impression (is like looking at the palm of the hand at arms length).
Both observers are part of the colormetric calculation in the CIELab-System.
The observer is written after the illuminant divided by a slash – D65/10deg
