Bayer takes over polyurethane systems house Resina Chemie. Dutch company is a leading provider of rigid foam systems

Bayer B.V., based in Mijdrecht in the Netherlands, plans to take over Foxhol-based polyurethane systems house Resina Chemie B.V., a leading provider of rigid polyurethane foam systems in Europe. Both partners signed the contract of sale today. The main areas of activity of Resina Chemie are systems for polyurethane rigid foams for the refrigeration and construction industries. The system house is well-known in these sectors and can draw on extensive know-how and decades of experience. It is now being incorporated into the global network of polyurethane systems houses of Bayer MaterialScience under the name BaySystems B.V. This transaction is still subject to the approval of the relevant antitrust authorities. Financial details have not been disclosed.

“By acquiring Resina Chemie, we have now again extended our systems house network in the key region of Europe, Middle East and Africa. These systems houses offer customer-specific product portfolios and accelerate the market launch of polyurethane innovations through a close relationship with customers. BaySystems B.V. customers, too, will soon benefit from fast and flexible technology transfer within the network and from this network to polyurethane processors,” explains Peter Vanacker, head of the Polyurethanes Business Unit and a member of the Executive Committee of Bayer MaterialScience.
